African Fighting Championship (AFC) A Division of D-Nyce Promotion is a discipline sports which is a combination of Mix Martial Arts (MMA) and Kickboxing. We also train and develop athletes for such events.
Our company host these events to bring awareness to the popular and growing sports. We also invite fighters from various countries across Africa to come and compete in Ghana.
We promote very hard and host free shows / events to bring awareness and entertain a wide array of audience. However, we are no longer in a beginning stage, we have graduated in terms of a growing popularity amongst youth and young adults.
African Fighting Championship (AFC) is a well-known martial art and kickboxing event that’s places it events at every festival and public events like Chale Wote Street Festival, Easter Kwehu Festival, etc for the pass years.
This type of sporting event is mostly seen on TV from overseas and we are proud to be the first company to bring it Africa wide. We have executed a number of MMA showcases in Ghana especially during various festivities/festivals and have received nothing but positive feedback and a great number of audience members.
The total rounds for every fight is six rounds with the first five the selection rounds and the last one is big event to choose the champions for each category in the event. The categories that are mostly in the event are mix martial arts (MMA) and kickboxing. For the selection rounds, the fighters are mostly divided into five weight categories and each category consist of some number of fighters. The winners each fight will get two (2) points for winning and three (3) points for winning with KO. Therefore, the final event there will be fighters from each category and they will fight for first fight, semifinal and final fight.
Other than the mentions categories mentioned, African Fighting Championship (AFC) also want to give awareness to people about the importance of martial arts. Therefore, for those who do not have any basic in martial art and kickboxing, they can still articipate in the activities during the event such as self- defense workshops, martial art demos, amateur kickboxing tournament, booth of selling fight gears and game booth for crowds.
As most of MMA gym in Ghana keep on training new amateur MMA and Kick boxers, it will go wasted if their talents are not tested and experience a real fight with other fighters. Therefore, with this event new amateurs can get their first fight and as well as debuting themselves so that martial arts and kickboxing fans will know about them. It also helps the amateur to improve their skills after the fight as the will realize their own weakness and strong point.
The second objective is to increase MMA awareness and the growing martial arts and kickboxing community in Ghana. Even though the martial art and community are blooming at steady pace, there is still lots of people do not know what MMA and Kickboxing is and some of it have misguided perception about MMA. Thus, this Fight Festivities will help to introduce people to the real MMA and erase all the false perception about MMA.
The last but not least objective is to create opportunity for brand exposure and various sponsorship. Just like people do not know what MMA is, there is also people who do not even aware the existence of MMA gym or training center and the approved energy drinks near them. Hence, when fighters from the unknown training center join this event, it will give exposure toward not only fighters but also to the training center and sponsor’s products.
